The latest line in the TiVo series is the Series 3 Digital Video Recorder. It is the only Digital Media Recorder with THX certification in the world. You can control live High Definition TV and you can record two digital cable shows at one time. The Series 3 has the capabilities to record over 300 hours of standard recording time and up to 32 in High Definition. The advanced TiVo has digital photo, Internet radio and podcasts.
It has a new back light, an easy to program remote that is easy to set to your TV.
TiVo has a feature where you can record two shows that are on at the same time, you can find and record tour show by identifying the title, actor, sports team and keyword. You can schedule recording from anywhere on the web. You can share pictures, listen to the Internet radio and get podcasts.
For the Series 3 you will need a phone line or a broadband connection. A Digital cable service with 2 Cable card decoders from the cable provider, you may need two for dual functions. A digital antenna and the Series 3 is not usable with satellite TV. You will also need an Ethernet cable or compatible UBS wireless network adapter, these are sold separately, and they are not included. There are also early termination fees that apply if you cancel before the contract is up. Ask about that before ordering the service. The amount of the box and the service can be costly, so find out what happens if you don’t want the service any more.
