The TiVo DVR lets you the user record two shows at the same time. You can program by title or genre, name of the actor or director, no other DVR player can do that. There is a built in data base that allows the users to choose from the programs they wish to tape. You can store the programs you taped until the storage case or file is full. This is something that you have to look out for. Watch the TV shows as soon as you can because if you use the DVR a lot, you never know when it is going to be full. You can schedule your recording 2 weeks ahead of time.
TiVo offers what they call a Season Pass. This feature tells the TiVo to record a specific show for the entire season. The TiVo will tape the same time, channel for as many weeks as you set it to. A normal TV series is 22 weeks. The TiVo has a wish list was well. This is a feature where you pick an actor for example and when you program the actors name into the wish list, it will automatically record any TV show, movie or TV appearance that features your actor.
TiVo has some great features that we have just mentioned. No other DVR recorder can do that. The advantages and the disadvantages are pretty even as far a TiVo goes. They have to have better features than the other DVR players; they have a so-so reputation so they need more features like the Wish List and the Season Pass to keep up with the other companies.
